I'm 2010's Dick Whittington.

I'm still currently on my "hide from responsibility" tour and staying in my home town for a few days.
There is something so odd about going out drinking with people you haven't seen seen high school.

My town is one of those towns that if you stay after high school - (deep scary booming movie voice) YOU STAY FOREVER.
However I, being the resourceful bunny that I am, escaped at 19 and ran away to London (to make my fortune Dick Whittington style) but I do come home every now and again and visit the two and only pubs and see everyone that is still about.

Don't get me wrong, the majority of them are lovely but it's just such a different world.
Every time I come back I learn at least one of the following

Some one has gone to jail
Some one/many ones have had babies and/or preggo
Some one has be bottled/glassed

It's a classy town.

Also, because so many people haven't seen me in so long, when I tell about what I do at Uni, they are overwhelmed by the idea of it.
"Telly? oh my god, are you going to be a presenter?
"wow, have you met anyone famous?"
"Am I gonna see you on MTV?"

When in reality, all I do is make tea and coffee while trying not to trip on my face.
I think everything is most glamours in idea or premise - it's the reality that lets it down... bastard reality.
